Honeywell
favour local shows over national events.
Smaller
regional shows allow more discussion in a more friendly atmosphere
closer to home, says honeywell.
BRACKNELL, UK,
22
FEBRUARY 2002 - Honeywell, the leading supplier of controls to the
domestic heating market, will not be exhibiting at Interbuild 2002
but will concentrate its exhibition activities on regional shows
throughout the year, including the Domestic Heating and Plumbing
Trade Events (DHPTE) and the Plumbing & Heating Exhibitions (PHEX).
“Regional shows are more convenient for heating
installers to visit, they have a more informal atmosphere and they
allow us to focus more precisely on the trade’s interests,”
explained Richard Edwards, Manager of Honeywell’s Trade
Business.
Honeywell
is committed to expanding the market, so it also holds regular
training courses around the country to help installers keep up to
date with the latest controls.
Honeywell is also involved in lobbying the Government to
raise the standard of energy efficiency controls in the UK.
“Our
aims in attending trade shows are to provide valuable advice on
maximising the trade’s profitability and to answer technical
questions, not just to show products.
Smaller regional shows allow more discussion and
explanation time and allow a more comprehensive platform to
demonstrate the latest heating control technologies.
They therefore allow us to satisfy the trade’s need for
information and advice much better than a national trade show.
Key
among the Honeywell exhibits at all its regional shows is the
Smartfit system, now established as a new standard for central
heating control. This
is not surprising as it was developed in response to installers’
demands for a system that is not only quick and easy to install
but includes self-diagnostics to show if there is a fault.
It helps specifiers, merchants and installers by reducing
the complexity of installation and ensures the installation is
“right first time”. Its
connections are either plug in or have two wire connections that
are polarity free, resulting in reduced hassle and inconvenience.
If
there is a central heating problem in the future, the householder
can pass on a fault code from the Smartfit controller’s display,
which identifies the problem and allows the correct parts to be
taken to fix it.
Traditional
control solutions are still of major importance, so Honeywell is
demonstrating products to develop this market, including
reversible flow radiator thermostats and advanced controls such as
the CM60 programmable room thermostat range. With the growth of
combi boiler installations, Honeywell offers both wired and
wireless (RF) control solutions.
All
Honeywell products comply with UK and European directives and are
manufactured in factories certificated to ISO 9000.
Established in 1885, Honeywell have a reputation for high
quality products that meet every control requirement in all its
business areas including applications as diverse as aerospace,
industrial processes and commercial buildings.
