Firmware Downloads
Download any necessary Zip files to you hard drive and expand them using Winzip®, or equivalent, software. Included in all zip files is a Readme file with instructions on how to proceed
NOTE:Version 4.1 firmware can only be installed in CPU and Scanner modules designed with the NS9750 microprocessor
(produced after S/N 06xx). Modules with firmware 2.1 or older will not function and
cannot be upgraded with this firmware.
Please be aware, the CPU upgrade files previously provided in .zip formats
have been changed to the .msi format. Download the necessary files to your PC, then
double click on the file and it will self install to the C:/Program files/HC900 firmware folder.
Also, the V 4.1 Scanner and OI upgrades are now included in the HC Designer upgrade
and can be found in the C:/Program files/HC900 firmware folder.

These files allow users to UPGRADE to the latest version of release 2.1, HC900 modules. Please note, for systems
using a C50 CPU and Scanner modules, both the CPU modules and Scanners must be
updated to the latest versions to be compatible. Version 3.1, OI firmware is compatible
with Version 2.1, 2.3 and 2.4, C30/C50/C70 controllers and Version 1.0, C70R systems.

HC900, C30 and C50 Processor and C53 Scanner modules produced prior to Jan. 2006
(SN 0601Y…)were based on a Net40 microprocessor. HC900, C30, C50 and C70 Processors and C53 Scanners produced after Jan. 2006 (SN 0601Y…)
are based on a NS9750 microprocessor.Firmware version 2.3 is the initial release of the modules based on the NS9750 microprocessor
and can only be downloaded to NS9750 based modules. The newer modules with version 2.3
firmware are compatible with Net40 based C30/C50 processors of Version 2.109 and C53
Scanners of Version 2.104 and can be used as direct replacements should one of the Net 40 based modules fail. As new HC900 firmware releases occur for the NS9750 based modules, users
needing to replace Net 40 based modules will need to downgrade the firmware in the new module,
to be compatible. The table below provides users with Version 2.3 for the respective modules.
Please note:when loading firmware to a NS9750 based Scanner module, please select the
appropriate file based on the Controller type through which the Scanner code will be
downloaded. Also, Scanner modules with a versions greater than V 2.3 will not initially appear in
the monitor mode; however, the V 2.3 firmware can still be downloaded.
