VRS Industrial Speed Sensors Overview
The Honeywell VRS and Digital Speed Sensors are considered components to be incorporated in a system under the EMC directive. EMI emission and susceptibility for the VRS Sensors is not applicable. EMI emission risk for digital sensors is low, with susceptibility a possible concern. History shows most applications with an initial noise issue clear up upon complete system installation, but each application will need verification.

3010 Series General Purpose VRS Sensors

For general speed sensing applications where the overall size of the sensor is not critical. Best for medium to high speeds or electrically noisy environments with relatively small air gaps.

3015 Series General Purpose VRS Sensors

For general speed sensing applications where the overall size of the sensor is not critical. Best for medium to high speeds or electrically noisy environments with relatively small air gaps.

30X9 Series High Resolution VRS Sensors

The 30x9 Series of high resolution VRS Sensors are designed for speed sensing applications where a precise timing pulse is required, and/or fine pitch gears are used. Proper alignment of sensor is required.

304X Series High Resolution VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where a precise timing pulse is required and/or fine pitch gears are used. Proper alignment of sensor is required.

30X4 Series High Resolution VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where a precise timing pulse is required and/or fine pitch gears are used. Proper alignment of sensor is required.

3070/3090 Series Explosion Proof VRS Sensors

When properly installed using the explosion containment method, all 3070 and 3090 series models are certified for use in hazardous locations as follows; 3070, 3090 SERIES: CLASS 1, GROUPS ABCD, CLASS II, GROUPS EFG, CLASS III. The 3070 and 3090 series have been tested to and meet the requirements of applicable U.S. and Canadian specifications for the locations described above.

Honeywell Sensing & Control offers a comprehensive line of plastic molded sensors for use in high volume oem applications where low cost is a requirement.

3030 Series High Output VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where higher output voltages are needed. Performs best at low to medium speeds with medium to high impedance loads.

3025 Series High Output VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where higher output voltages are needed. Performs best at low to medium speeds with medium to high impedance loads.

3040 Series Power Output VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where the sensing area is exposed to fluids, lubricants or adverse environmental conditions.

MA230/MA240 Series Sealed Front-End VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where larger actuators can be used. Best for driving low resistance loads at large air gaps.

MA243HT Series Sealed Front-End Hi-Temp Sensor

For speed sensing applications where larger actuators can be used. Best for driving low resistance loads at large air gaps.

MA215HT/MA315HT Series Sealed Front-End Hi-Temp VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where the sensing area is exposed to fluids, lubricants or adverse environmental conditions.

MA3055 Series Sealed Front-End Hi-Temp VRS Sensor

For speed sensing applications where sensor mounting area is very limited, a high temperature is present, and the sensor tip is exposed to liquids, oils or fluids.

3042 Series Intrinsically Safe VRS Sensors

When properly installed using the intrinsic safety protection method connected per control drawing 621081, individual models are intrinsically safe for hazardous locations as follows; Models 3042A, M3042A: class 1, Groups ABCD; Models 3042H20, M3042H20: class 1, Groups ABCD, Class II, Groups EFG, Class III

3050 Series Miniature VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where sensor mounting area is very limited.

3080 Series Sub Miniature VRS Sensor

For speed sensing applications where sensor mounting location is extremely limited.

3015HTB Series High Temperature VRS Sensors

For speed sensing applications where an intermittent or continuous high temperature exists at the sensor location.
