Honeywell Sensotec offers both strain gauge and piezoelectric accelerometers
so that your sensor will provide the best measurements possible
given the conditions encountered in your application. Strain gauge
accelerometers must be used whenever DC or very low frequencies
are to be measured. Piezoelectric accelerometers should be used
when high frequency performance is required on such applications
as gear boxes, ball bearings, etc. Piezoelectric accelerometers
should not be used below 3 Hz. Piezoelectric accelerometers should
be used where rough handling and high impacts are expected.
Honeywell Sensotec accelerometers measure a wide range of frequencies
from DC to 6000 Hz and full ranges of 5 G to 2000 G. These
units will survive overloads up to 500% (varies with model).
Honeywell Sensotec's accelerometers are also designed to cope with
operating temperatures between -100ºF to 500ºF. Honeywell Sensotec's
range of outputs are as varied as any manufacturer in the
world. They include ±5 V, 100 mV, 100 pC/G, and 2 - 10 mA.
