Sensors for Automotive Test and Assembly Applications
Honeywell’s Sensotec Sensors and Lebow Products
are
used in a variety of applications in the automotive
industry.
For over fifty years, Honeywell’s Sensotec Sensors
and Lebow Products have provided the automotive industry
with the most comprehensive line of sensor products
designed specifically for automotive test and assembly
applications. These sensors are used in a variety of
applications from component testing all the way through
full vehicle testing. From tires and shocks, power train,
chassis and suspension, to full over the road tests,
you will find Sensotec and Lebow sensor and instrumentation
products a vital part of the test systems.
Honeywell products are used extensively throughout
automotive assembly processes. Our extensive experience
in applying sensors to part-to-part assembly, system-to-system
assembly, metering and dispensing applications, welding
and fastening applications, provides customers with
optimum sensor choices which can help maximize application
solutions.

Dual
Output Load Cells and Torque Cells
The dual output of both digital and analog signals allows
for flexibility for the customer with force/torque measurement
applications where both conventional 0-5 VDC is required
and digital output directly into a PC is needed. Digital
output is available in both RS485 or RS232.
With less than 1 millisec step response on the analog
output and greater than 300 readings per second on the
digital output, Honeywell Sensotec’s digital output
load cells and torque cells provide dual solutions.
These products feature very good thermal characteristics
because the effects of temperature are automatically
corrected internally. The zero and span adjustments
are made electronically—no need for manual adjustments.
The digital output is especially useful on the manufacturing
shop floor because it alleviates the problems of data
measurement caused by EMI and RFI. In addition, the
all-welded stainless steel construction is ideally suited
for rugged application environments.

Model
FP2000 Meets Demands of Engine Testing
Honeywell
Sensotec’s Model FP2000 series of pressure transducers
represents a long succession of engine testing applications.
Starting in the 1970’s,with the very demanding
requirements of jet engine testing, Honeywell Sensotec
has decades of test and measurement experience into
automotive power train testing.
The Model FP2000 pressure sensors are used to measure
engine oil pressures, fuel pressures, manifold pressures
and coolant pressure. Our FP2000’s are used as
electronic barometers and also for leak tests in a cold
crank conditions.

Unique
Solutions for Liquid Gaskets, Adhesives, and Sealants
Applications
Honeywell
Sensotec’s broad range of automotive sensors extends
into the many automated metering and dispensing applications
used for automotive engine assembly and transmission
assembly as well as final vehicle assembly.
The Models A-105, A-105a, and Model 355 are flush diaphragm
miniature pressure transducers designed with all stainless
steel welded construction. This special family of pressure
sensors provides the industrial automation designer
with sensor solutions unique to the application of liquid
gaskets, adhesives, and sealants. The small size and
small mass of the Models A-105, A-105a, and 355 make
them ideal for installation in automated assembly robotic
arms. Since each of these products has a flush diaphragm
(no recess at all), clogging is eliminated and cleaning
is simplified.
In addition, the small rigid sensing diaphragm provides
the design engineer with the high frequency response
and resolution required for precise control of the dispensing
process. The sensing diaphragm and sensor body are electron
beam welded—making the transducer extremely robust.
Since up-time is critical in assembly applications,
this feature is vital to the overall performance of
the metering and dispensing system.
