Measure
Torque and Speed in a Small, Affordable Package That
Has One Moving Part
The Lebow 1700 series of transducers uniquely combine
optical and inductive technologies to yield high-speed
data capture and enhanced long-term reliability. Using
two completely different technologies means there is
no interference between the input and output signals.
The optical transmission method is designed to reduce
susceptibility to external influences. Traditional torque
transducer designs use slip rings that have reliability,
accuracy and longevity limitations. At high speeds,
slip rings can fail prematurely and lift off, causing
inaccurate measurements. At low speeds, slip ring friction
can adversely affect the results from low-level torque
measurements. In the 1700 series, power to the strain
gauges is transmitted through inductive coupling. Transfer
of data from the rotor is achieved through a proprietary
high-speed optical link.

Flange
Reaction Torque Sensors Offer Higher Resistance to Bending
Movements
Lebow’s model 2110 is a flange reaction torque
sensor with high torsional stiffness. These low capacity
reaction torque sensors have been used in a broad range
of component and product test applications. Their low
mass and low load range capability often make them ideal
for testing involved with bearing friction measurement,
stepper switch torque, and small motor development and
manufacturing.
