"Oilfield Tough": Not Just a Slogan

deep water rigYou're drilling for oil hundreds of mile offshore. A storm is on the way; the seas are already running to 16 feet; it's pitch dark; and if the temperature climbed to freezing, it'd seem balmy. Every little thing has to work exactly right—including your sensors.

Tough Environments Demand Sensors to Match
We've proven ourselves in the world's toughest working conditions, so you can be sure our sensors will handle the worst treatment you can dish out. Whether you're drilling on the high seas, digging in the high deserts, or tackling any other demanding job in a harsh, corrosive environment, Honeywell Sensotec is ready to help you measure pressure, load, displacement, torque, acceleration, and more.

We've got a world of rugged, highly accurate, and extremely reliable sensors. And we've got the engineering expertise to help you choose the correct one for your application. Even if it means a stomach-tossing adventure on the North Sea, our engineers work with your people so that they understand just what you're dealing with. Then they design sensors that do what you need done.

rig workersFor the most demanding applications, "Oilfield Tough" is not just a slogan; it's a necessity. Our sensors stand up to those applications—and we stand behind our sensors.

The Honeywell Sensotec Family of "Oilfield Tough" Sensors
We use the technologies best able to withstand the rigors of harsh environments—bonded foil, semiconductor, micromachined silicon, piezoelectric, and wireless signal communications—to make an extensive range of "oilfield tough" sensors. And if you don't find what you want, we'll make you one. (Really. We will make just one.)

Plus, we service and calibrate our sensors as long as you want us to; we know all about intrinsic safety and explosion proofing; and we've got FM, CSA, and ATEX down pat. Add to that a network of services—manufacturers representatives, product distributors, and calibration facilities—strategically located all over the world. Bottom line: You've got a partner you can depend on.

So check us out—we're tough enough to take it! You'll find dozens of sensors especially suited to tough environments at http://www.sensotec.com/oil-gas.asp.

Subminiature, Flush Diaphragm Pressure Transducer

Model SSmall but tough, the Model S handles pressures up to 20,000 psi and temperatures up to 400ºF.

It's ideal for downhole, measuring-while-drilling, and logging-while-drilling applications. Off-the shelf models offer plenty of flexibility, but—as with all our sensors—we can also readily supply many special configurations to accommodate your design requirements. More More information

Focus on Oilfields: Model S and Measurement-While-Drilling Applications

With its small size and configurable packaging, our Model S is ideally suited for integration into downhole MWD tools used for directional drilling—including those tools used for underbalanced drilling. These sensors gather information on application-specific pressures such as well-bore pressures and annulus pressures.

wireline systemConstructed of all-welded stainless steel, the Model S stands up to the intense vibration and high shock loads typical of the downhole environment. Without a whimper, it'll take pressures up to 20,000 psi and 400ºF temperatures.

And the Model S does it all while delivering Honeywell Sensotec's signature accuracy and reliability. For the extremely dangerous—and costly—world of downhole operations, you couldn't get a better partner. More More information

Pancake Load Cells for Coiled Tubing and Dead-Line-Anchor Applications

These intrinsically safe sensors offer excellent lightening suppression and stainless steel construction that extends sensor life in harshly corrosive environments. The Model 41 and Model 43 can accommodate any special mounting configuration or design constraints. Frequency response is much faster and resolution much higher than for hydraulic sensors.

Model 41The Model 41, which measures both tension and compression, is ideal for coiled tubing applications.

Model 43The Model 43 measures compression only and is well suited for dead-line-anchor applications and for determining overall mast load.

In addition, both of these popular force sensors can be used for many general purpose force measurement applications. More More information

Wing Union Pressure Transmitters

Our Model 425 and 424 Wing Union Pressure Transmitters are constructed of X-750 Inconel to comply with NACE MR-01-75 (1980) for corrosive service. They are intrinsically safe and designed for compatibility with many electrical connections and wiring codes.

The Model 425 (1502, 2 inch fitting) accommodates ranges from 5,000-15,000 psi.

The Model 424 (2002, 2202, 2 inch fitting) comes in standard ranges of 15,000 and 20,000 psi.

Operators, drilling contractors, and well service companies who work all over the world will especially appreciate the flexibility offered by these two ATEX-approved sensors. More More information
