High
Temperature, Miniature Pressure
Transducer |
| Honeywell Sensotec’s
Model
A105 miniature flush diaphragm pressure transducer now
has the option of a high temperature capability in addition
to the rugged all-welded stainless steel package.
The environmentally sealed Model A105 now
offers operation from -65 to 350 degree F (-53 to 175 degree
C). Pressure ranges are available from 500 psi (35 bar) through
0-15,000 psi (0-1000 bar).
Applications include aerospace and automotive
hydraulics pressures, and generally severe environmental applications.

| Weld
Force Firing |
| Honeywell Sensotec announces the application
of force measurement technology to traditional resistance
welding.
By combining our WELD-THRU
load cell with a digital meter, it is possible to control
the electrode force at the time of firing for
spot and projection welds to produce consistent results.
We provide a family of force sensors and
meters to suit most welding applications. More

| Accelerometers
with Built-in Signal Conditioning |
Analyzing the vibration signal
from an accelerometer does not always require expensive or
complicated analysis equipment.
Built in signal conditioning in the model
MA15,
MA321,
MA322
and MA52
accelerometers provides a 4-20mA output that is proportional
to the RMS vibration value. This built in signal conditioning
means that with only a 4-20mA meter hooked up to your accelerometer
you can be monitoring vibration, quickly, easily and cheaply.
The MA15 provides an output proportional
to g vibration, the MA 52 provides an output proportional
to velocity vibration levels and the MA 321/322 provides g
vibration down to zero hertz.

| When
Does a Load Cell Need a Base Plate? |
A
base plate is added to a pancake load cell when the cell is
to be used in a tension application and also to aid high repeatability
of measurements when used in a compression application.
Base plate fitted to a pancake style load
cell for a tension application.
In order to get high repeatability (low repeatability
error) and low creep from a load cell in a compression application
then the following conditions need to be met:
- The cell sensing element must be mounted
on a flat surface (Base plate and load cell are ground,
flat surfaces)
- The load cell sensing element must be
rigidly fixed to the structure. Rigidly fixed usually means
bolted down (load cell bolted to base plate)
- The load cell element should be torqued
down evenly to avoid distortion (load cell bolted down to
base plate)
- All compressive forces should be applied
absolutely perpendicular to the sensing element and any
side loading should be avoided. (load button)
