The 2100 Systems are well suited for both short and long term testing,
monitoring or controlling in those areas where other methods are affected
by vibration, dust, moisture, high RPM's, and large axial and radial
shaft movements. The pre-fabricated bolt-on collar makes for quick short
term installations and the power induction system makes for carefree
non-stop, long term operation.
The clamp-on collar is specifically machined to fit each application.
This collar has a pre-assembled antenna and an installed transmitter
in its machined pocket. The transmitter receives power from and broadcasts
the data signal to the stationary loop of the induction supply module.
The RF data signal is then carried to the receiver where it is converted
to a high voltage bipolar output. The receiver has front panel locking
controls for GAIN, ZERO, DISPLAY SCALE, RECEIVED SIGNAL STRENGTH, and
IPS POWER adjustment.
Transmitters and receivers operating at different frequencies are available
for up to 10 point of measurements. Transmitters located within approximately
10 feet of each other should always be at different frequencies.

All 2100 systems use 2116S
transmitters. Single or dual channel can be made in a battery-powered
form in which case the 1219C transmitter
is used. |

| Power Supply: |
|
| |
The 2100 Series products use the 2175A
Induction Power Supply (IPS) for systems up to 3 channels. Systems
with 4 to 6 channels use 2175B and
systems with 7 or more channels use 2175C.
the 2175 IPS receives variable DC power via the coaxial cable connected
to the receiver. |
| |
The IPS contains an oscillator that operates at 160
kHz (-10, +20 kHz) whose signal is fed to current amplifiers. the
current amplifiers drive a resonant transformer/capacitor circuit
through the stationary antenna. |
| |
The 160 kHz power is coupled into the rotating antenna
loop as in an air core transformer. The RF signal is received from
the rotation antenna loop capacitively. A toroid transformer in
the IPS separates the RF signal from the 160 kHz and places it on
the coaxial cable for routing to the receiver. |
| Module Support Ring: |
| |
The 2126A High-Speed
Collar is standard for the 2100 Series products. The collar is normally
made from the highest strength fiberglass epoxy materials available.
A strap-on collar which encloses the transmitter in a waterproof
box is also available for certain applications. |

SHAFT SPEEDS |

| Antennas: |
|
| |
The stationary antenna is normally made as a loop
of 5/32 inch diameter brass. The two ends of the loop are mounted
in the 2175 IPS. |
| |
The rotation antenna is normally made of copper wire
which is installed in the collar at the factory. Other forms are
available. |
| |
The typical gap between the rotating collar (antenna)
and the stationary antenna is .25 to .50 inch. this allows for shaft
movement. |
