London central heating installer has halfed the time taken to install controls since switching to Honeywell Smartfit.

“My customers prefer the Smartfit controller which combines the programmer and room thermostat in one unit”

BRACKNELL, UK, 3 April 2002 - Home heating installer Robert Whiting of South London has halved the time to install central heating controls since choosing Honeywell’s Smartfit system over traditional controls.  “It’s fast and easy for me to install – and my customers love it,” observed Robert, proprietor of RH Heating (84 Dumbarton Road, London SW2 5LU).  “They particularly like the Smartfit controller which combines the programmer and room thermostat in one unit,” he revealed.

Robert always provides the best for his customers, so installs Smartfit on all new central heating installations and upgrades where possible.  “It makes upgrades particularly easy. Even when replacing a three-way valve, I may recommend replacing the control system with Smartfit because then householders have much better control of their central heating and hot water, as well as the convenience of a single control unit.  It doesn’t take long to install a Smartfit system due to its snap-on valve actuator and plug-in electrical connections – and I leave behind a very happy customer.”

Smartfit installer packs contain everything needed for an installation including valves, a cylinder sensor, a controller and a base unit with plug-in connections and ready-wired cables ready to plug in.

Some 80 per cent of RH Heating’s installations are directly for householders and the remainder is contract work, notably for London borough councils.

RH Heating is one of many installers, housing associations and councils throughout the UK that have changed to Smartfit, whose circuits uniquely use 12 volts or less, not mains voltage, and are centred on a connection box that provides plug-in or simple 2-wire connection for all space heating and hot water controls.  Installers simply connect the two-wire room unit, plug in the valves and cylinder sensor, and the system is complete.  Valve actuators simply snap on and are common to all valves in the range.  There is no need for a wiring diagram and it is virtually impossible to install a Smartfit system incorrectly.
