Honeywell provides comprehensive M&E maintenance
services at Congress House (TUC headquarters and
conference centre in London).
BRACKNELL, UK, 29 MAY 2001 – Honeywell Home and Building Control
is providing a comprehensive mechanical and electrical (M & E) maintenance service
at Congress House, the headquarters and conference centre of the Trades Union
Congress (TUC) in Great Russell Street, London. The three-year £100,000 service
contract includes boilers, air handling units, fire, security and CCTV at the
"Grade
2 star" listed building. It follows the installation of a Honeywell Excel Security Manager
system for access control.
"Honeywell delivers a service that ensures reliability, efficiency and optimum
comfort conditions, so maximising the TUC's return on investment," commented
Karen Robinson, TUC Estates Officer. "We required a service contractor that would
look after all our building systems – including HVAC, fire, security and CCTV –
supplied by various companies. We had worked recently with Honeywell, which had
just supplied its Excel Security Manager system for access control. Our project
managers, Ove Arup & Partners, advised us in our choice of Honeywell."
Clive Lee, Associate, of Ove Arup & Partners in Bristol, said, "Honeywell
were selected because their price was well supported with the requested information
and was in the range predicted by our pre-tender estimate.
In addition, their response
to our specification at tender stage was clearly written and addressed all the key issues
without distracting extraneous information."
In addition to housing the TUC's headquarters and a number of other tenant
companies and organisaitions. The TUC also operates a major conference venue,
Congress Centre.
The Trades Union Congress (TUC) is the national centre representing 76 trade
unions in Britain with a combined membership of nearly 7 million working people.
