BEAMA Energy
The initials "BEAMA" stand
for the "British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers' Associations".
BEAMA is the largest and most professional Trade
Association Federation in the United Kingdom, providing Technical, Legal, Overseas
Marketing, Standards, Economics and Commercial services to all the major manufacturing
companies in the Electrical and Allied Industries. It is the focal point and spokesman for
the Industry and acts as an interface between Industry, Government departments, EEC
Commission etc.
Within the "Energy and Allied" group are the
following three associations where Honeywell is an active member.
Association of Control
Manufacturers (TACMA)
The Association of Control Manufacturers
(TACMA) is a long established Association for manufacturers and suppliers of electrical
and electronic controls and switchgear used in appliances, heating systems and for other
applications.
TACMA's prime objective is to provide a
high level policy making and co-ordinating body for each sector of the industry on matters
of common concern to its members. It also aims to provide a channel of communication
between the industry and related bodies such as government departments, standards
organisations and energy supply companies.
The Domestic Heating Controls Group of TACMA (DHCG)
This separate group within TACMA is
dedicated to expanding the market for domestic heating controls and raising the profile of
the Industry.
The Group represents the interest of
its members in discussion with the main influence involved in the supply chain for
controls such as the Builders Merchant Federation and the installer organisations.
The Thermostatic
Mixing Valve Manufacturers Association (TMVA)
This part of TACMA aims to address the
commercial issues concerned with thermostatic mixing and shower valves. The members of the
Association are all members of the TMV3 group of manufacturers. The TMV3 is a standard
developed by the members for these products for the health care sector. Using this
standard as a basis the Association represents the members in discussions and initiatives
with Government departments, Health sector representatives, and other interested parties
concerned with the safe operation of hot water supplies in buildings. In addition the
Association aims to publicise the benefits of thermostatic shower valves to customers in
both the domestic and commercial sectors.
