REALM
provides a wide range of support services to the retail sector,
specifically to six major UK supermarket chains. Our mobile engineering workforce of 150
engineers provides preventative maintenance and reactive emergency callout coverage
throughout the UK for the following equipment:

This is a demanding customer
group where there is a high degree of trade dependency on fully functioning equipment and
where more and more stores are opening for longer and longer hours, frequently 24 hours.
Service Level Agreements are appropriately demanding and we provide cover 24 hours a day,
all year round. This is a very high volume business, where REALM has grown from a new
entrant to one of the major players in the UK supermarket maintenance sector in just under
five years.
Started as a new venture in
1994, REALM was initially awarded forty stores by our first and major customer, and has
since grown to become their major service provider. Following Honeywells strategic
acquisition of the Lincold Refrigeration businesses in 1997, the service operation from
this business was integrated into REALM in November 1998, providing valuable contracts
with major supermarket chains in the North.
REALM has just one Operational
Centre based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, from which all call handling, spares
purchasing, administration and invoicing functions are conducted. The centre was
established using state of the art service delivery technologies, and utilises a unique
combination of an in-house developed software package and the Cognito mobile data network
to provide a highly automated, real-time service management system. |
